Today’s show is a combo pack!
First, let me warm you up with the second half of my Techno Yo! mix from a few weeks ago (and very last set recorded on a windows machine, lol)
This is then followed by a one hour set recorded
in Medellin, Colombia 9-15-12 by Thomas O’Hara as Minimal:Impossible.
He started out producing and doing a live PA in 1996-1999 as Bassfactory with Atom Smasher
and Minimal: Impossible started in 2006 as a solo project. He has 22 releases out on Sirius Pandi
(Belgium), Montenegro (Mexico), & Doppelganger (Germany) as well as on his two labels Anti-Gravity Research Labs
(Vinyl and CDs) and 1,5,9,13 Music (Digital only).
Tom started 1,5,9,13 Music in 2007 and has 17 releases in stores, so far, 18 & 19 are coming up shortly.
The name is the buttons you press on a 16 Step drum machine to make a four-four kick.
The idea came from a line in the Beastie Boys song Triple Trouble,
“Kicks on the one, seven and eleven, snares on the five and thirteen.”
